Inflammation of the eyelid margin is known as blepharitis.

Inflammation of the oil glands in eyelids is called meibomitis.

Generally, blepharitis and meibomitis occur together.

Allopathy Treatment

When a blepharitis or meibomitis patient consults an allopathic doctor, he prescribes antibiotics and anti-inflammatory drops or creams.

Sometimes steroid creams are also prescribed.

If the patient gets better within a month of this treatment, then that is a good thing.

Otherwise, overuse of these medicines causes side effects like low immunity, increase in pressure of eye (Glaucoma), development of cataract, damage of optic nerve.

The patient should consult a good homeopath to avoid this situation.

Homeopathy Treatment

This works in 4 ways:

  1. Unblocking the oil glands in the eyelids.
  2. Improves dryness of the eyes.
  3. Inflammation and infection become better.
  4. Most importantly homeopathy treatment helps to prevent recurrence of blepharitis.

Medicines help to reduce symptoms like pain, burning, redness, swelling, dryness.

The vision of the patient also improves.

Medicines prevent the formation of crusts on the eyelid margin.

Medicines are prescribed in the form of pills to be taken orally.

I never prescribe creams or eyedrops for external use because I have seen in my clinical practice, which I have been doing since 1997, that external application or eye drops suppresses blepharitis and cannot cure it completely.

According to my clinical experience some improvement starts within 4 to 8 weeks of treatment but for complete recovery it takes about 4 to 8 months.

Homeopathy is safe, natural, gentle and has no side effects.

Number of Medicines

There are around 142 medicines in homeopathy for blepharitis and meibomitis.

Now which of these medicines are to be given, in how much potency, how many times in a day – this is a complicated process which only a highly qualified and experienced doctor can do.

A sensible doctor never prescribes on the name of the disease blepharitis and meibomitis.

He takes the complete history of the patient; then studies his symptoms properly.

After this, he selects the medicines keeping in mind the susceptibility of the patient and decides upon the potency and repetition of medicines.

“Homeopathy is not readymade, it is tailormade.”

While treating blepharitis and meibomitis I prescribe for one month and then review the patient.

Every month the case is studied again, thereby finetuning the medicines and their potencies.

How much improvement you get in blepharitis and meibomitis depends upon your choice of doctor. These days KYC is done in banks; I think patients should also do KYD – Know Your Doctor.

Name of Medicines?

Friends, in this blog I have not named any medicines, nor I have promoted medicines of any company; because by doing so I will be playing with your health and may harm you. A sane doctor will never do this.
