What is Urticaria?

The simple meaning of urticaria is red skin rashes with itching which is due to an allergy. These allergic rashes can remain from few minutes to few hours.

If along with these rashes there is also swelling, then this is known as angioedema.

Sometimes this swelling can occur without rashes.

If this swelling occurs in the internal organs, then it can be life threatening. For example, if angioedema develops in throat it can lead to suffocation.

I have seen in my clinical practice, which I have been doing since 1997, that in most cases of urticaria it is not known what is causing the allergy.

I have also seen that allergy tests are also not useful because they confirm allergies to things which practically are not causing urticaria to the patient.

Allopathic Treatment

When an urticaria patient consults an allopathic doctor, he prescribes anti histamines like Cetirizine, Avil, Allegra.

If symptoms do not get better, then the doctor may add steroids.

But as soon as the treatment is stopped, rash and itching come backs.

But the patient can’t take these medicines for long because these medicines have serious side effects, and the patient starts searching for a good homeopathic doctor.

Homeopathic Treatment

Histamine releases when urticaria develops and this is an immunological process. Therefore, it is important to correct the derangement of immune system to cure urticaria which is possible only through classical constitutional homeopathy treatment; that also without side effects.

I have seen in my practice that improvement start during the first two months of treatment, and it takes about 6 to 8 months to completely heal the urticaria.

Gradually the frequency and severity of urticaria decreases and then urticaria completely heals.

Basically, we cure the over sensitiveness of the patient so that allergies stop affecting the patient.

Number of Medicines

There are around 230 medicines in homeopathy for urticaria which are amazingly effective.

Now which of these medicines are to be given, in how much potency, how many times in a day – this is a complicated process which only a highly qualified and experienced doctor can do.

A sensible doctor never prescribes on the name of the disease urticaria. He takes complete history of the patient, then studies his symptoms properly.

After this, he selects the medicines keeping in mind the susceptibility of the patient and decides upon the potency and repetition of medicines.

While treating urticaria I prescribe for one month and then review the patient after that. Every month the case is studied again thereby finetuning the medicines and their potencies.

Name of Medicines?

Friends, in this blog I have not named any medicines, nor I have promoted medicines of any company; because by doing so I will be playing with your health and may harm you. A sane doctor will never do this.
